With the holidays just around the corner, and rain sweeping across most of our country today, we wanted to share our TOP 3 rainy day activities for kids so you don’t get caught out over the break. These activities not only provide entertainment but also promote creativity, imagination, and quality family time. Let's dive in and explore these ideas...
Arts and Crafts Hour
We may be bias but we are BIG fans of crafting at Hello Maeve. An indoor day is the perfect time to break out all of the ribbons, pipe cleaners and googly eyes that are just begging to be turned into DIY masterpieces. Perhaps even make it a Christmas themed crafting hour!
Do a Room Make-Over
Depending on your child’s age, this can be a great way to encourage their imagination and boost their confidence. Let them pick the doona cover, the toys for their bed, move some furniture around and unleash their creativity! This activity not only keeps them entertained but also nurtures their confidence and decision-making abilities. Additionally, it gives them a sense of ownership and pride in their personal environment.
Go on a scavenger hunt
This is super simple to set up using items from around the house. Print or draw a list of items that your child needs to find around the house and set a timer. It promotes problem-solving skills, observational abilities, and teamwork if played with siblings or friends. This will keep them entertained and give you AT LEAST 15 minutes of peace!
Embrace the indoors and seize the opportunity to spend quality time engaging in arts and crafts, encouraging room makeovers, and embarking on thrilling scavenger hunts. By incorporating these activities into your holiday schedule, you're creating memorable experiences that foster creativity, imagination, and family connections.
